AYSO and Jungo partner to further their commitment to youth soccer.

As part of a new, multi-year engagement, a partnership between the AYSO and Jungo will further our joint commitment to help kids enjoy the soccer experience at all levels for longer. In August 2022, we will change the way players connect with the game they love. But first, let’s take a quick step back.

Although areas of youth sports are evolving, it’s alarming which parts are not. Scariest to us, 70% of kids quit team sports by age 14, with overall participation also waning. Even at the highest levels, college scholarships go unassigned. Regardless of age, team sports are suffering. When kids should be advancing, they are leaving.

The Jungo team is built by former players and current coaches who set out to identify the problem and solve it. Regardless of gender or sport, one thing kept coming back. Kids quit because their ability does not match their ambition. Why? Consistently, the answer is a lack of engagement with coaches and actionable feedback.

Recreational coaches are often parents with a little extra time. At the club level, coaching resources run thin, as coaches are often responsible for several teams. Both scenarios often lead to lost opportunities for meaningful engagement with their players. Jungo changes that. It’s a LinkedIn for youth athletes. And now, in partnership with AYSO, millions of youth players can create that engagement, potentially after every game or practice. It builds a body of work with not just a current parent coach, but past coaches, opposing coaches, camp coaches… It’s a portfolio of feedback that travels with a player. Now, they don’t start over with each age group. Now, coaches are introduced to a player before they even physically meet them. And in the bigger picture, players can get up-to-the-minute feedback on how they are doing, and what they need to do. This engagement drives retention, commitment, and a deeper understanding and love for soccer.

Parent coaches in the AYSO will already know what the last team’s coach feels are the players strengths and weaknesses, and can create a practice accordingly. It helps with lineups and steers drill selection. And as players rate how they feel after each game and training session, recreational coaches can plan accordingly. In short, this new partnership creates a practice playbook for millions of engaged players. Overnight.

With partnerships like these, Jungo can accomplish what we’re all trying to achieve: Help kids fall in love with the game for life.
